2020.11.25 20:33 jaydencams Beginners guide to spirituality, meditation, etc?

Hi reader,
I’ve just started trying to get into meditation and spirituality mainly because I was inspired by Jhené Aiko and after a little research discovered that it was very interesting and something I’d like to look into more.
I’ve started working on chakras (my root chakra more specifically) thanks to u/ BearFuzanglong’s VERY helpful guides.
However, there are tons of different topics - not just chakras - involved in spirituality. I was wondering if there was a guide anywhere in this subreddit that anyone has read and could direct me to that sort of gives a starter kit explanation of spirituality?
Appreciate any responses.

I love his little doodle illustrations he post on twitter, would be nice he can polish some of them to become real chapters or side stories within the real stories.
be it 1-5 page of pure filler fluff, or a 4koma, just intentionally stupid filler for us to breath after a big arc fold, and is just the main cast being themselves on a normal day.

2020.11.25 20:33 ThiccMerc 6 tips to become the best teammate ever

Everyone likes top fragging. However, as many of us probably found out the hard way, top fragging doesn't win games. A good team is more likely to win when teammates work together, but with randoms, this can be a nightmare.
Adaptability is typically the solution to to win more, but what does adaptability even mean in CODM? Switching loadouts? Spam quickchat? Become an akimbo user?
Well, you can do that. But it's really not necessary. Here are 6 tips that make you a better teammate, one for each ranked MP mode and two for the BR modes (sorry Warfare, you won't be getting a spotlight here). Each of these can carry over to any game mode, but are most prominent under their specific mode.
Disclaimer: Most of these are based off my personal observations and experimentations in the North America region.
Team Deathmatch: Protect your teammates
If you don't already, get into the habit of checking the scoreboard a couple times, particularly in the last 15-20 points in the game (make sure you're in a safe spot to do so, though :D). Any later and you may not have enough time to change the outcome. If you're within the top three on the scoreboard, continue to frag out, but be careful. You'll want to stay within your half of the map so your teammates will spawn near you. They can cover your flank and the enemy will always have to approach from the same angles (i.e. the Crossfire map).
If you're the bottom two, don't push out. Your goal is to cover your better fragging teammate's flanks. You don't want to be giving up points to the enemies, so hard camping (staying in one spot--most snipers do this) or soft camping (anchoring, moving around, but remaining in the same area so you don't flip spawns) is a better option.
Domination: Rush B later
Rush B is a terrible quickchat. Why? Well, B is perfectly in the middle of the two sides (except Highrise because Highrise couldn't care less) and that's where most of the fighting happens. The higher up you go in ranks, the rarer it is for B to be captured quickly.
Encourage your team to capture the point nearest to your spawn (A or C). The faster you capture your side's point, the more points on the board you'll have so that it's an easier comeback if the enemy team does take B first. This is a crucial strategy for Summit T side, where C is exposed and vulnerable to any incoming molotov or grenade. Firing Range is also high up there, as it's possible to throw a nade from A to C or vise versa.
If your teammates run B, just capture A or C alone. It will still gain points for you, even if it sets your team's clock back a few seconds.
The only exception to this rule is Highrise T side. Rush B and hope someone stays back to grab C.
Hardpoint: Spread out
Like TDM, check the scoreboard now and then. If you're within the top three, stay in front of the Hardpoint where the enemies will typically come from, but don't cross the halfway point. You don't want to flip spawns. If you're within the bottom two, find a spot behind the hardpoint and watch for flanks. You're also responsible for getting across the map to spawn your teammates on the next hardpoint (at this point, it's rare to have people who don't know where the ranked hardpoint order yet).
Side tip: Don't crowd the hardpoint. Yes, you can walk through your teammates, but you can't walk through the enemy. If all 10 players are in the hardpoint, it's a clusterfuck, to put it nicely. Another reason to spread out or establish yourself as the dedicated hardpoint holder.
SnD: Totally don't bait your teammates
Part of good game sense is noting what happens to your teammates. Pay attention to how your teammates split up, where they kill, and especially where they die (there are little markers that indicate where they die if they're not in front of you).
If your teammate dies to a sniper, you may not want to push that area to avenge them. That sniper is probably camping and you stand almost no chance against them unless you know how to quickscope and have a pretty good idea where they are. If it's an SMG, shotgun, pistol, or trip mine, that enemy is very close and you're probably already fighting them. If it's an AR or LMG and you don't see them right away, they may be shooting you from across the map. Avenging your teammate's death may not be worth the risk unless you know where to shoot.
A good way to practice this is to play without sound and no alert perk. SnD is heavily reliant on sound, but even sound can't beat good game sense and observation. Casual SnD is good for learning maps and teaching your eye to learn what clues to look for as to where your teammates are. But training comes from playing ranked, where the stakes are higher and people play faster.
BR -- Isolated: Stay together
Obviously, this only applies to squads, trios, and duos. Just an obvious disclaimer.
Pick a teammate and stick with them. You can pick that teammate that goes off own their own, or you can stay with the teammates who are closer together (you don't get a choice in duos haha). The idea is to work together, not compete for the highest kills.
If you're pairing with friends, you'll know whether you can be more aggressive or passive depending on the team. If you're playing with randoms, figure out if your selected teammate is more of a looter or a pusher. If they're a looter, you'll probably end up playing more of the attacker role, as looters tend to be on the weaker side of the player base and don't want to go into battle unprepared (note the word 'tend.' Some looters kick ass). If they're a pusher, play supportive. Chances are you won't get as many kills as them but you'll help keep them alive. Similarly, some pushers are not great players, so be prepared to have to switch roles.
BR -- Alcatraz: Stay back
Unlike Isolated, it's easier to be separated from each other and still run across the entire map to heal your knocked teammate. It's difficult, but it can be done.
The best way to support your teammates is staying back and giving them room, or stay a distance away (I typically stay within 20-30m away from my teammates if I'm running alongside with them, but I'm probably the only one that measures that). Because Alcatraz is a giant CQC map, the goal is to make it harder for enemies to perform a transfer spray on you both. Additionally, it helps you and your teammates watch out for each other when the revive flight comes through, as most people land exactly where they died.
As an extra tip, if your entire team is temporarily dead, consider soft camping (minimal attacking unless you're pushed). Even the strongest players can't win fights if they're overwhelmed by multiple teams.
Final note:
Regardless of how good of a teammate you are, you won't win every game because it's literally impossible to unless you're hacking (please don't hack, by the way. Let's try to make CODM one of the cleanest online shooter games). However, by being a good teammate, you can increase your chances by winning, even if it's only by a little. A win is still a win, whether you top, second, third, fourth, or bottom frag.
And that's all! Thanks for reading! Best of luck in your games!

2020.11.25 20:33 Piplup55 Swap motherboards to get new cpu?

Hey yall! Just wanted to get some insight on a dilemma I have. I've had my machine for a couple of years with a GTX 1060 and and i5-6500(3.2Ghz). I've noticed lately that I'm getting spiky framerates when I run games, and my CPU working a lot harder than my graphics so I think its about time for an upgrade.
So my current dilemma is that AMD processers seem soo much cheaper and better. I really think Ryzen 5 3600 would be slick and give me room for a graphics card update later on. But if I'm upgrading to that I'd need to buy an AMD motherboard, which makes the total package price a lot less appealing.
So what should I do here? Get higher end Intel CPU? Buy a new AMD + motherboard, and that way my next upgrade is easier? Or spend all my money on a fancy case instead and hope that helps?

2020.11.25 20:33 BramDuin Hey y'all, what is the best controller button-mapping for someone who has never held a controller before? [PC]

I originally played with mouse and keyboard, but could never get past certain sections of the game, I knew what movement I had to perform and when but could never manage to consistently do it.

So I read that people say controller is the best for these kinda games, and I bought an X-Box One controller, since assumed it would be best compatable with Windows, being Microsoft and all.

But since I never used a controller before everything just feels off and unnatural, I tried different combinations but nothing feels right, and seeing how I'm getting even less further than I used to with a keyboard, I was hoping for some insight from people with more controller and hollow knight experience.

2020.11.25 20:33 Giraffehavingapicnic How is everyone's relationship with their mother?

I've come across multiple mentions of scorpio moons having intense possibly tempestuous relationships with their mothers and situations where the scorpio moon child often had to parent their mother. Does this ring true for anyone?
My moon is in the 12th house so it very much applies to my mom and I. Depression, abuse, and codependency ruled most of her life and it left it's mark on me but we've both grown so much since my childhood and twenties.
We've always been very close but it wasn't good between us for a very long time. I would experience panic attacks when she called and now we talk on the phone for hours!
Does anyone else relate?

2020.11.25 20:33 mugenwoe Bone loss due to extracted tooth?

About 4 years ago I got a tooth extracted when I was getting ready to separate from the Army.
Fast forward to today, My dentists have been asking me at every cleaning if I want to go ahead with a dental implant. They never mentioned that bone loss could occur as a result, more so just mentioning that it can affect the way my teeth sit.
Today my dentist mentioned it again, this time telling me about a clinic that specializes in them, and also mentioning the bone loss factor.
Now I’m really freaking out. I can’t tell how much bone has deteriorated, if at all, and they never mentioned it, which makes me think it must not be that much. However I don’t know for sure. I don’t want this to affect my teeth, my face, etc.
Just reading up on bone loss is making me sick, honestly. I’m about to have a full on panic attack.
I’ve got an appointment for the clinic they recommended on Dec. 23rd, but that seems so far away from now, and who know when they’ll be able to get me in for the procedure.
I keep reading up about how this can really fuck up your face, but how common is that really and how long would that even take?
