The direction that you sleep matters. Sleep with your head to the east or south. Sometimes west but never north. Get a compass or download a compass app to check your bed direction. If you are having trouble sleeping that might be the culprit.

I don't know if I'll get responses fast enough- but I decided to get reddit to ask a question anonymously. I just took 6 ADVIL Cold & Sinus plus. I was wondering what the lethal amount is? I'm trying to make sure I'll be fine, because I'm beginning to regret it.

2021.01.26 06:24 martijn-fme Do you want to learn music theory?

Hello everyone! :)
As a music teacher I always wanted an easy way for my students to learn a bit more about music theory. So last year I started on a quest to make an app to allow exactly that. Last month, version 2 (including ear training) came out and I'd love it if you guys try it and give me some feedback on what to improve.
You can look on the website and it is available for iOS and Android.
The website also has a large library with images of scales and chords in any key.
Thanks and good day!

2021.01.26 06:24 KariaFelWell I hoped.

I want the world to spin,
Spin under,
Away,
From me.
I want the world to bow,
Kneel at the shattered Throne of the Queen I am no longer.
I want the world to burn with my anger,
To freeze with my saddness,
And to bloom when I finally feel happy again.
I want the world to know that I tried so hard.
And if there's a God,
If Gaia can hear my prayers,
My hopes,
My dreams,
My aspirations,
To bless me...
Just this once...
So I can finally make it through,
See the end,
Win the fight,
Finally feel alright.

2021.01.26 06:24 raddruid How much research do you do while reading historical fiction, creative non-fiction, "based on a true story novels?"

I'm currently reading A Brief History of Seven Killings
(which, side note, is amazing so far - exciting and engaging, Marlon James creates and interweaves such believable, fascinating and disparate voices into a compelling narrative)
I'm realizing I only have a fairly limited knowledge of Jamaica at the time the novel takes place. Part of me wants to let the novel wash over me and to be surprised by the events and characters like I would a work of pure fiction. Part of me feels the experience would be enriched if I had a better knowledge of the context and the real-life figures or figures that characters may be based on.
Do you pair a book like this with a book of non-fiction? Prefer to go into this type of experience already knowing the context? Look it up afterwards? Right now I'm just keeping a running list of things to research later unless it seems like a really important detail to understanding the story.

2021.01.26 06:24 barbecuepotatochip University in Argentina| UADE| Applying as an international student

Hello everyone!!!
I am looking into universities abroad to pursue a degree in international business. One university I have been looking at is UADE (Argentine University of Enterprise) in Buenos Aires, does anyone know if the university is competitive? Could you explain to me the admissions process as an American or simply an international students at UADE, and if you have advice around the admissions process that would be great. I'd also would like to know more about what it's like to study there, so if you can tell me about your experience there, that would also be helpful. :)
Specific questions about UADE:
- When do you get your admission results once you've applied?
- Is there a cafeteria there, and do they offer the three meals a day there?
- I know that the Bachelor in direction of Global Business Management can be done up to 75% in English, how was it (as a non-native Spanish speaker), were you able to handle the classes in Spanish, did the professors help you when you didn't understand, how did you find your way around?
- I know there is an interview one must do within the application process, as an international student applicant at UADE, were you able to do it in English or was it in Spanish?
- If you are a current student, do you know if UADE will have online classes in August?
- Does UADE offer language classes as an elective?
- Did you stay at UADE, and if so, did you enjoy it; what was it like living there, did you feel safe?
- How do the professors help you, did/ do they work with you when you need help? I grew up speaking Spanish at home, but living my life in English so I've never had real formal Spanish language training except for three years of high school. I would like to know if as a non-native Spanish speaker, did your professors help you out when you didn't understand something completely, were they supportive?
- What was it like to make friends as an international student?

2021.01.26 06:24 Grain_in_a_Jar ELI5: Imagine a light sensor connected to a locked door.

Last optics question for tonight!
Imagine a light sensor connected to a locked door. The sensor can measure the wavelength of the light that enters it. The door will unlock if the sensor detects yellow light.
So, will the door be unlocked if red and green lights are aimed simultaneously at the sensor?
My current guess is that although our eyes would perceive the addition of the red and green lights as yellow, the actual wavelengths of the red and green lights would not "fuse" to become actual yellow light. The sensor would detect green and/or red light separately, and the door would remain locked. Is that correct?
Bonus question: Would the door unlock if white light is aimed at the sensor?
As I understand it, white light doesn't actually exist outside of our brain in the same way that light of any color does. Our eyes perceive white light when the cones in the retina detect ALL wavelengths in the visible spectrum at the same time. If that's correct, and white light is simply a collection of multiple light waves, then the door would detect the yellow light "within" the white light, and the door would unlock. Is that correct?
Thank you for reading!

2021.01.26 06:24 TheM1ghtyBear A mixed trade.

So I’ve been telling people on Discord if I should trade Dejounte Murray and Harrell for Brogdon.
Some people say it’s a fair trade while the other side thinks I lost the trade. To be honest, I have no clue if it’s a good trade or not because of the mixed reviews of what people are saying. What do you think?

More of an OffMyChest type post.
So i otften stair at people a little too long. I never realized how it made other people feel. I had no intention of making people uncomfortable around me. As a result ive learned another lesson is social skills and people at work all despise me without even knowing me.
Ive been antisocial for a long time and never developed social skills. Making mistakes like this always seems help me in understanding social norms but i wish i didn't have to find out the hard way.
